I stumbled across Podcasting last year when I’m browsing on MSDN’s website and came across the DotNetRocks! page. I downloaded few of their episodes and immediately got hook by the show. That’s when I switched to iTunes as my primary music player for downloading a podcast is a breeze on that player.
Over the past months, I accumulated dozens of podcast episodes from different category. From the latest in technology, programming, movies, fashion, music, business, and humor. Here are some of the podcasts I’m currently listening and recommend:
By Pwop Production. Anything .net. From ASP.Net to XML. Carl Franklin and Richard Campbell really revolutionized tech podcasting with this one. They give real-life thoughts and insights regarding the latest in .net and any Microsoft related technologies. They don’t deal into the nitty-gritty details of programming but instead focuses on its concepts. Their show is truly a blast especially when Kim Tripp is on it.
A weekly program that talks about tools and techniques one can use to help achieve one’s management and career objectives. They focus more on specifics actions rather than theory to improve someone’s management performance.
Also produced by Pwop Production and hosted also by Carl Franklin. This program “is a weekly show chock full of people dumber than you, tech toys, a girl, and a lot of geeky, funny, and sometimes amazing stories”. They have segment like Unfortunate Web Headlines, Things I’ve Learned This Week, Geek News, People Dumber Than Me and Richard the Toy Boy. Great to start your week.
Steve Pavlina’s Personal Development
A section of his Personal Development Blog with was voted as one of the top 500 best blog in the web. It has interesting topics ranging from “How To Become An Early Riser” to “The Meaning Of Life”.
30 Minutes of Personal Finance
Hosted by Ben Lewis on how to manage your personal finance intelligently.
I find listening to these things rewarding and at least I have something worthwhile to do during my “idle” times like when I’m commuting to someplace or waiting for someone.
